Google Advanced Search: Find Credible Websites

There are three ways to find the Advanced Search option in Google:

  1. Type “Advanced Search” in the Google box.
  2. When the Google Search box is displayed, scroll down, select the link Settings

After you see search results, find a Settings button in the right upper corner, click on it and select the Advanced Search link from the Drop Down Box. See the image. 

The Google Advanced page will show up https://www.google.com/advanced_search. Here you can limit your search by using domains of credible institutions in the Site or Doman box. 

Here are the common domain names:

.gov = government                .org = organizational               .mil = military
.edu = educational .com = commercial .net = network

 

To look for credible websites, use .gov, .edu, and .org domain names.
